一：出自贏姓，以國為氏。據《通誌．氏族略．以國為氏》所載，周平王時。秦仲討伐西戎有功，其少子康，受封於夏陽X山(在今陜西省韓城縣南)。春秋時， X國亡於秦國，其後有X氏。

二：以邑為氏。春秋時，晉國有解X城(在今山西省臨猗西南)，高X，曲X之地，公元前645年，晉惠公以解X等五城賄於秦國，居其地者以「X」為氏。
