Kobe and AI are officially out of the All Star Game and will be replaced by Jason Kidd and David Lee respectively: Link

Personally I would've taken Monta Ellis but his status is uncertain as well. It is likely that J-Kidd was chosen because the snow in Dallas is making it difficult for other players to make it on time.

I don't really think the record is a major determinant of whether or not a player is chosen. It is likely, though, that the snow in Dallas prevents Monta Ellis from traveling from Golden State. And his injury wasn't serious: he wasn't ruled out of the Clippers game after he sustained the injury.

But he wasn't ruled out of the game before that, suggesting that he was able to but ended up choosing not to. And after that game, he would've had a few more days to rest before the actual All Star Game.
