I could understand that many Man Utd fans would buy someone to replace R. Keane?
But does he the right person?
In my eyes, I would like to buy a defender...
and try to transferred one of these players to be Defensive Midfield:
Philip Neville, J O'Shea, Alan Smith.
I get no idea Alan Smith will work in defensive Midfield or not..
but seems Philip and John did it Ok when they played sometimes in last few years.

John O'Shea is a really good player, and don't miss out his potentials.........

He's running all of fields..
but .... his defensive skills
in my eyes..... he's not good enough in this moment..
but no one knows.

If you watch soccer for really long time........
Roy Keane was playing attacking midfield when he was in Nottingham Forest...... (he was about 20 years old at that time)

There are few questions marks in my mind:
1) Will Man Utd.. this big club will risk Alan Smith to let him be defensive midfield?
2) Does he have potentials to transfer into new position?!
