it's on undisclosed fee...I suspect the transferring fee would less than 5.5M...

as other teams always sign players on cheap that Man Utd doesnt want...like Djemba, kleberson, Bellion, Forlan, Butt, Howard, P.Neville,
Especially, Forlan, he was sold at around 3-4M

FERGUSON REVEALS ROSSI OPTION



Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Manchester United have first refusal on Giuseppe Rossi should Villarreal want to sell the Italian Under-21 international.

Rossi has joined the La Liga outfit in an estimated 10million deal after deciding he wanted more first-team opportunities than he was likely to get at Old Trafford this season.

Ferguson did his best to persuade the 20-year-old to stay with United but after scoring nine goals in 17 games to effectively keep Parma in Serie A last term, Rossi was anxious not to find himself back in the Red Devils reserves.

So, in accepting Rossi's wishes, Ferguson instead ensured he would be able to buy the New Jersey-born striker back should the need arise.

"We have put a clause in the contract, so maybe he will come back to us at some stage," the Scot told MUTV.

"We wish Giuseppe well and we know he will do well at Villarreal.

"It was a difficult decision to let him leave. I had several meetings with him to try and convince him that he would get plenty of football with us this season and all he needed was a bit of patience.

"But, having been on loan last season, he wanted first-team football all the time."

Rossi has signed a six-year contract with Villarreal, where he is effectively replacing another United old-boy, Diego Forlan.

Ferguson will now hope to tie up the transfer of Carlos Tevez reasonably quickly as, with Alan Smith seemingly certain to leave before the August 31 deadline and both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha on the injured list, he is likely to have only one recognised out-and-out striker, Wayne Rooney, in his squad for Sunday's Community Shield showdown with Chelsea at Wembley.

Owen Hargreaves made his first appearance for United as a young XI overcame a Peterborough team managed by Sir Alex Ferguson's son Darren.

The recent signing from Bayern Munich came on at half-time as a sub for Darren Gibson, who'd starred in the Reds' win at Doncaster less than 24 hours earlier.

Hargreaves was a busy figure but he was arguably overshadowed by the scorer of United's stunning third goal, Dong Fangzhuo. The Chinese striker performed a skilful Ronaldo-esque manouvere inside the box before firing the ball home in the 77th minute. This came just five minutes after Richie Jones made it 2-1 when another Dong shot was parried.
Adam Eckersley opened the scoring for United with an angled drive in the 23rd minute, only for Peterborough's Rene Howe to equalise with a similar strike four minutes after the break.

Darren Ferguson revealed on BBC Radio Cambridge he was expecting his father to field a slightly different side.

"There was a bit of confusion because we thought Fletcher and Silvestre were coming down to play," said Ferguson junior.

"Hargreaves, Pique, Lee Martin and others were out there, though. They've got quality throughout the squad. It wasn't an overly competitive game but thoroughly enjoyable. It was a good day for the whole family."

last night....less than 24 hours after the match against Doncaster....
that's why all the youngsters and B team players like Campbell, Lea, Heaton, Dong played in this match VS Peterborough....all A team players are in Wembley to prepare the match against Chelsea tonight....
